The Queen Slim Trapper Winterbottom Bone features mirror polished stainless steel clip point and spey blades with a nail nick. The handles are Winterbottom jigged bone with nickel silver bolsters, brass pins and liners, and a colour-filled brass shield. It’s a nicely produced penknife and a real bargain. Both blades are non-locking with a cutting edge under 7.6cm making it legal to carry in the UK at the owners discretion.
The distinctive Winterbottom jigging pattern was developed by Samuel Winterbottom of Egg Harbor, New Jersey in the late nineteenth century. Put into extensive use by some of the most well-known knife manufacturers at the time, it was particularly popular as a handle material for pocket knives and table cutlery.
